Our History of Innovation
Graphic Design
White Canvas started as a design studio (studio being a desk in a bedroom). Our core service was the design of logos, leaflets, brochures, labels, stickers, banners and other digital media.
Print and Design
With design, came the demand for print. A lot of our work was converted to printed matter. Customers would take our designs to printers for flexographic, offset or digital printing. In an effort to provide a one stop shop, we partnered with various printers to offer seamless transitions to production. This print brokerage allowed us to monitor print quality and minimize production time.
Web
The jump to web design was an immense step. It involved a lot of in-house training, collaborations with external designers and developers as we honed our skills. Developing with pure html and inline styling was messy and tough. We learnt a lot of hard lessons along the way as web development technology and best practices changed quickly before our eyes and keeping up often involved a lot of catching up.
Web Applications
Websites were getting smarter and were capable of doing more. We believed still, even more could be done. We added data management and digital data driven services to our rapidly expanding portfolio. The offering of solutions in the digital space has stuck with us since then and we have consistently pushed the boundaries with what is possible in this space. We encourage clients to flex their imagination and think beyond what they know is possible.
Data Security
Managing data involved protecting data in all forms. We introduced a suite of Data Protection, Data Loss Prevention and Data Recovery products. We partnered with Drive Savers out of Los Angeles to offer a leading global service of data recovery on hard drives and flash drives. We've recovered data that were considered unrecoverable from logically and physically damaged drives.
Networking
We understand the advantage in having an understanding of both the software and hardware aspects of technology solutions. Our network architects plan and build the infrastructure on which we deploy our software. We can create networks from the ground up. This involves installing cabling, routers, switches, panels, firewalls and a host of network appliances to ensure the efficiency and uptime of your network.
Cloud Computing
With the expansion of Cloud Computing we saw the advantages of transitioning our customers to the cloud. With many software providers offering their products as a subscription via SaaS. The benefits in terms of maintenance and reduced infrastructure costs made the decisions easy. We started with AWS and stuck with them as they diversified their offering in this space. We are proficient with AWS solutions and our customers have benefitted from this choice.
Small Business Support
With the complications of COVID including threat to life came threats to livelihoods. Business that stayed open were forced to reassess their needs and prioritize their spends. Some, to their detriment cut their IT spend because they simply could not afford it. We decided to introduce affordable support packages at a fraction of in-house costs to support small to medium businesses while they operated under severe financial restraints.
